Hi Jacinda I hope that you are well and had a lovely christmas and hopefuly managed to get some rest before your busy year ahead. I'm not even sure if you get to read this email but this subject is very important to me . So I decided to go ahead and send it anyway nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.
I'm always encouraging clients to go for it so thought I would do the same.
I run a lifecoaching and motivational speaking company called Lifeboat there is a website if you want to check it out www.life-boat.co.nz . I want to get mindfulness into schools I think high schools would be the best place to start. I do some work for red cross and have been teaching in many schools . It is very sad to hear about so many suicides and kids self harming. There are some things in place to help which are doing a great job. We do however keep going down the same path and then wondering why we keep getting the same result. So time for changes we can feel this all around us so I beleive the time for change is now.
Mindfulness is quite gentle and would be a good fit for high schools not only can it help those already in trouble it can help prevent kids getting to that point in the first place. Let's be proactive instead of reactive.
Let's teach our kids self compassion instead of self harm the world is changing so fast so lets try together and make some good positive changes. I like to lead by example so if we show the kids we are trying to change and its a good thing then they can follow us.
I have many ideas and plans on how this could be done and the benefits long term would be huge. If you feel you would like to have a conversation or discussion with me about this please contact me. I would be very happy to come and meet with you and hear your thoughts or send me an email.
Thank you for you time wishing you a very happy new year.
